Conference registration

The 2nd International Conference on the History of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in Conjunction with the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Teaching Chinese at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, to be hosted by the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, will be held in hybrid on May 25-28, 2023. To register for the conference, please carefully review the following information before starting the registration process at the bottom of this page.

information for presenters

The presenters who choose to present online will present during the conference online session held on May 25 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM HST. All registered conference participants will be provided with the access to the live zoom rooms. The opening ceremony, keynote speech, and plenary talks on May 26 and 27 will be broadcasted through live streaming to all online participants.The access code will be provided to all registered online participants. No streaming service is available for paralleled break-out sessions. Full papers from both online and in-person presentations that are submitted by the required deadline will be included in the online pre-conference proceedings.

Registration for the conference includes coffee service, two-days boxed lunch, and a reception for those attending in-person.
Optional Banquet: $30 per person ($62 value), on 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2023. Tickets can be added to the payment form. Location: Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant (1538 Kapiolani Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814).

IMPORTANT PAYMENT INFORMATION

We use TouchNet for our registration fee payment transactions. It accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and JCB.

Charges will show up as "UHM CALL CONF" on your credit card statement, which stands for "University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, College of Arts, Languages & Letters Conference."

After submitting the registration form, you will be redirected to the TouchNet platform to select your registration type and submit payment.

NOTE: Even if you do not have to submit a payment (e.g., plenary speakers and student volunteers), please go to the TouchNet site to complete your registration; you will not be asked to input credit card information in this case.

CANCELLATION POLICY

To receive a refund for a registration fee, cancellation requests must be submitted via email to ccle@hawaii.edu no later than May 18, 2023. A $5 processing fee may be subtracted from refunds. There are no refunds for cancellation after May 18, 2023 or for conference no-shows.
